Welcome To Mecca Center Sunday School

Location

  • The Mecca Center, 16W560 91st Street, Willowbrook, IL 60527

Ages

  • All students ages 4-9 yrs on the 1st floor.
  • Ages 10 and up on the lower level.

Hours

  • 9:45 am to 2:15 pm (please send lunch with your child)

QURAN CURRICULUM

In order to encourage students to review the surahs they memorized this year and to help them establish a continued connection with the Quran, MECCA Sunday School seeks to enhance its Quran curriculum and to encourage its students to eventually memorize a whole Juz’ (chapter) of the Quran.

The following is the list of surahs that each class will study the meanings of and memorize Insha’Allah:

  • PRESCHOOL: Al-Fatiha, Al-Nas, Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, Al-Kawthar, Al-Masad, Al-Asr, Al-Quraish, Ayatul Kursi
  • KINDERGARTEN: Review, Al-Nasr, Al-Kafiroon, Al-Ma’aoon, Al-Fil, Al-Humaza Al-Takathur, Al-Qariya’a
  • 1st GRADE: Review, Al-A’adiyat, Al-Zalzalah, Al-Bayyinah, Al-Qadr, Al-Teen, Al-Alaq, AlSharah,
  • 2nd GRADE: Review, AlDuha, Al-Layl, Al-Shams, Al-Balad, Al-Fajr
  • 3rd GRADE: Review, Al-Ghashiyah, Al-A’ala, Al-Tariq, Al-Buruj, Al-Inshiqaq
  • 4th GRADE: Review, Al-Mutaffifeen, Al-Infitar, Al-Takwir, Abasa, Al-Naziat, Al-Naba’
  • 5th GRADE and up: Students are introduced to the science of tajweed and will study longer surahs decided upon with their teachers such as YaSin, Luqman, Mulk, Sajdeh, Insan, and others.

ISLAMIC STUDIES CURRICULUM

The Weekend School Islamic Studies series will be distributed and used by the students this year. Teachers also use supporting curriculum such as I Love Islam series with progressive teaching methods to enhance learning.

ARABIC CURRICULUM

The Afaq Arabic series is the main focus of the Arabic curriculum. The Iqra’ series as well as the Yassarn AlQuran text is supplemented in several classes for those students that are beginner Arabic learners. Teachers also use various Arabic resources and teaching strategies to enhance learning.

Polices & Procedures

Doors will not be open until 2:15 pm – For any student who needs to leave earlier, please send a note with your child to give to the teacher upon arrival to school.

Parents of students in the preschool and kindergarten classes will pick up the children from their classrooms, while parents of 1st grade students and older will be dismissed from the gym.

The Mecca Center Sunday School program is for children ages 4-13 (8th grade in the fall) and is held from 9:45am to 2:15pm every Sunday. The 2025-2026 school year will begin on Sunday, September 7, 2025. The Mecca Center Sunday School program focuses on:

  • Islamic Studies
  • Quran
  • Arabic

Registration

Sunday School tuition fees for the 2025-2026 school year are as follows

  • $650 ($600 for second child) if registered and paid BEFORE July 15, 2025 (Includes $150 registration fee)
  • $700 ($650 for second child) if registered and paid AFTER July 15, 2025 (Includes $200 registration fee)

Recurring payments for remaining tuition begin October 17th

Registration Fee and Book Fees are INCLUDED in tuition.

Please Remember

  • Seats are limited and can only be reserved by completing the online registration and paying the $200 registration fee for each child.
  • Families with two children or more attending the Sunday School Program will receive a $50 discount on the tuition of each additional child.
  • Registration is first come first serve.

Registration

All registration is online and will run until DATE TBA (or until capacity is reached). Students registering after this date will be waitlisted as space is limited. A $200 minimum deposit per child is required and counts towards tuition. Financial aide is available by completing the application through online registration.

Special Needs Weekend School Program Interest Form

Alhamdulillah, The Mecca Center is committed to supporting and partnering with Muhsen in their efforts to help families with Special Needs. Muhsen certifies Masajid which work towards accommodating special needs community members.

We would like to know the requirements of Special Need Families in our community.
